The Experience
I'm an observer by nature, but even the most natural looking moments need a little boost sometimes. So I'm here to put you in better light if it's needed or to tell you to hug a little closer when the vibe is just right.
Rather than worrying about perfect poses I focus instead on moments of connection, guiding you through posing that is aimed to help you feel like you. We aim for candid, timeless storytelling that feels genuine and not like every Pinterest photo you've ever seen.
The result will be a gallery full of images that helps transport you back into your own story without you ever having felt like you "had to do photos" all day.
My Process
You can expect a helping hand, a cheerleader, and a body guard when someone comes to ask you again what time dinner starts. You can expect me to keep the energy up, to help you feel comfortable, and most of all you can expect me to give everything I've got to make sure your day feels epic.
You can also expect me to be best friends with your family by the end of the day. Parents love me when I get bossy ;)

Honestly, they are pretty fun. But besides that it's also a great way for us to build rapport before the wedding day and helps to ensure that you can be as comfortable as possible when I start saying things like "go stand in that weird beam of light... just trust me" ;)
Should we book an engagement session?
Don't worry, we can adjust your booking as needed. It's totally normal at this stage to be unsure of what your end needs will be, just know I'm here to help you figure it out along the way.
What if we don't know how many hours we need?
Well, that really depends. For weddings I guarantee between 30 and 50 photos per hour of coverage, but in reality you'll get way more. For family and couples sessions it depends on what we get up to, but I generally deliver around 60 final images.
How many photos can we expect?
Heck yeah I do. In fact I spent a huge portion of each wedding season shooting weddings on the Gulf Islands, Vancouver Island, all over BC and Alberta, and still manage to squeeze in some Fraser Valley, Okanagan and Vancouver weddings too.

The first step is to have a casual video chat to get a sense of how we might work together. After I've thoroughly charmed you I send over a contract to sign and a 30% retainer is due to secure your date. Once that's done I'm all yours!
How do we book you?
While I can offer lots of guidance and some helpful insight I do not build your timeline for you. I do, however, help refine it once you've got a solid draft and offer any ideas and suggestions I can to help maximize our time together.
Do you help with our timeline?
You betchya! In fact I always do my best to scout all locations thoroughly before our session together, ideally at the same time of day we'll be shooting so I know exactly what kind of light we can expect. I'm a huge nerd for light.
Do you help with choosing locations?
Absolutely! And if you're not sure if you need one I'm also happy to help talk you through the logistics and your options.
