What can I say? I am madly in love with Kerry and Jonathan’s wedding at Homer Street Cafe and Bar. It had all of the visual elements that I hope for in photographing weddings: incredible locations, tons of beautiful seasonal florals, smiling faces everywhere you look, and weather that made for the most perfectly intimate spring wedding in Vancouver.
I’ve never photographed a wedding at Homer Street Cafe and Bar before, and I came to find out that this was the first wedding they’d held in the newly launched space. I almost died of joy right then and there. This place has all the elements of an intimate venue for a wedding while also having impeccable service and food to die for. Plus, I mean, LOOK at this place! (Ok, scroll down in a minute). But, I’m getting sidetracked!
Kerry and Jonathan are two absolute sweethearts that found me last year. We met over coffees and I instantly clicked with their vision for the day. Kerry wanted a french, heritage inspired day with just their closest friends and family and wanted everything to be as easy as possible. They wanted to let their vendors run with her vision because in her words “Wedding planning is stressful! I found it took up a lot of mental space. It helped giving the artists and vendors free rein to use their creativity to create our day. At the end of the day, I am no expert, so why not let the professionals take over?” Instead of worrying about how the day was going they were able instead to focus on the energy and connections of the day. I mean, that’s how it should be, am I right?
Their wedding could not have been so perfect without all of these amazing vendors (check em out at the end of the post) but most importantly it was Kerry and Jonathan that brought their magic to every moment. Thanks for being awesome, you two, and thanks for and absolutely perfect wedding at Homer Street Cafe!
